The absence of Olympic and defending African champion Pamela Jelimo and reigning world champion South Africa's Caster Semenya makes the 800m a race Janet Jepkosgei's to lose. The former African and world champion however is playing down the favourite's tag saying Africa is capable of producing an upcoming athlete who can win the day like Jelimo did in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia two years ago.
