2009 Kenyan Trials Highlights

as predicted the 800 metres race at the national athletics trials was always going to be eye-popping. The current world champion Janeth Jepkosgei beat the Olympic gold medalist Pamela Jelimo at the line, for her first win this season in the women's event. The men's race saw the world champion Alfred Kirwa fall to second place behind David Rudisha. Now that was just a piece of the action; the entire national team was selected today, with the 32 athletes having to fight it out against one another at the Nyayo National stadium.
