German engineer to inspect Stadium track

ENGINEERS from the German company BSW will be in the island today to assess the Mundo track at the National Stadium, Independence Park Limited's (IPL) general manager Major Desmon Brown told the Observer.

The track, which was laid in 2002 ahead of the hosting of the 9th IAAF World Junior Championships that year, has been steadily deteriorating, especially in the area of the 100-metres start.

"They are coming to see the quickest way we can get this thing fixed," Brown said.
