Joe Salter runs marathons. He also juggles. At the same time.
So, if you’re running in the Pensacola Marathon on Sunday or if you’re
watching: You’re not hallucinating. You don’t need that extra splash of
water.
As if running the 26.2 miles won’t be challenge enough,
Salter will be upping the ante this weekend — taking on the marathon
course while juggling three balls.
Just add a new word to your vocabulary: joggling, a sport which, if nothing else, turns heads.
“It’s
one of two things: You either get a real nice comment or gesture or you
get a look of confusion, a ‘Did I just see that?’ look,” said Salter,
28, who works as a children’s mental health counselor at Lakeview
Center in Pensacola.
“I’m kind of used to it. They are always shocked to see me.”
Salter was a juggler first. His father first taught him at age 8, and he worked up to juggling six balls simultaneously.
